Cherie Hearts Raja Uda is the 14th Cherie Hearts centre to be opened in Malaysia. Situated in Butterworth, Penang, the branch was officially opened in year 2014 as an international mid to high end kindergarten & preschool by the current Managing Director and Owner of the Cherie Hearts National Master Franchisee, Mrs Sonia Lim.
Cherie Hearts Malaysia has been successfully operating for the past 10 years since 2009. Throughout these wonderful years, Cherie Hearts have won the best Childcare and Preschool awards in Malaysia for 2 consecutive years in 2015 & 2016 among many other awards and recognitions by the industry and the government.
Cherie Hearts Raja Uda is well-connected to the Butterworth Outer Ring Road, which leads to the towns of Seberang Perai, Seberang Jaya, Bukit Mertajam and the first Penang Bridge. Surrounded by various neighbourhoods and commercial hubs, Cherie Hearts Raja Uda has become a popular choice among parents who wants to send their children for infant care, childcare, preschool or kindergarten in the area.
Cherie Hearts Raja Uda has a very generous space and play facilities. The centre has a huge indoor playground specially designed for our little Cherians for their fun and relaxation. On top of that, the centre has a spacious kid-friendly library fully stocked with children’s books.
Our operating hours are from 7:30am to 7:00pm on all working days and we are open from 9:00am to 1:00pm on Saturday for enquiries and visits. Presently, the school sits on a 10,000 Square Feet space, and it offers a whole host of services to cater to the varying needs of parents and children. Our programme caters from Infant from 2 months old up to Kindergarten 2 for children aged 6 in preparation of going to main stream primary school or elementary grade international school.

Living in Butterworth, Penang
Butterworth is within North Seberang Perai District and is the largest town in Seberang Perai. It is 3 Km east of George Town, the capital city of Penang. Butterworth was named after Governor of the Straits Settlements; William John Butterworth.
The town started as a transportation hub due to its closeness to George Town. When the British East India Company acquired Seberang Perai for agriculture purposes, Butterworth experienced a significant change in industrialization.
The Port of Penang was moved to the town in I974. Currently, the main transport between Butterworth and George Town is Rapid Ferry Port of Penang is the busiest seaports in Malaysia.
In 2017, the Port of Penang handled 1.52 million TEUs of cargo. The Butterworth railway station, next to the suburb’s ferry terminal is one of the major Malayan Railway stations. The latter has train services operated by the State Railway of Thailand and the Malayan Railway.
Butterworth also hosts RMAF Butterworth; a British-built facility, now operating as a Royal Malaysian Air Force base.
According to the census carried out by Malaysia’s Department of Statistics, the suburb population was at 71,643 in 2010, which is almost 8.8% of Seberang Perai’s population. It is, therefore, the most populated town in Seberang Perai municipality.
Half of Butterworth’s population is made up of ethnic Chinese, the other being Malays and Indians.
The town’s economy is driven by maritime trade at the Port of Penang and its industries. The Mak Mandin Industrial Estate is the mecca of Butterworth’s manufacturing sector. It hosts the primary local firms, including Fujikura Federal Cables, Federal Oats Mills, and Zenman Industries.
The town also has active tin and steel industries. The latter consists of business dealing with scraps, automotive parts, and steel fabrication. Butterworth’s tin industry players include Malaysia Smelting Corporation, which is recognized as the second biggest tin supplier globally.
